Sound Walks
A slow morning of listening, here in Kyoto.

A morning by the water, microphones in hand.
I take people on small, private sound walks through the city — a few hours of wandering and listening together, microphones in hand. We move slowly, stop often, and pay attention to the sounds most of us walk straight past: water over stones, a temple bell, gravel underfoot, the hush of a garden.
You don't need to know anything about sound or recording. I bring the equipment and show you how it works. All you bring is a curiosity, and a willingness to slow down and listen.
What you take home
After the walk, an audio postcard arrives — a short, mixed recording of our morning, composed from the sounds we gathered together. A small piece of Kyoto you can keep, and return to whenever you like.
